Why does Gladli work?
Gladli works because the benefits of joining Gladli outweigh the costs. This is true for business members like you, as well as consumer members. For more information on business member benefits, see “What are the benefits of joining Gladli?”.

Gladli uses a product-sample-based targeted marketing approach to grow your business. This approach is successful for the following reasons.

  • Consumer Filtration and High Conversion Success Rate

With Gladli, a consumer is given a finite number of selection opportunities and must use each selection opportunity to select a single product from many other product options. There is a very real opportunity cost associated with each selection, in that the consumer must pass on many other options each time a selection is made. Therefore, the consumer is likely genuinely interested in each product that he or she selects – otherwise, he or she would have selected something else. By design, Gladli filters out those who are genuinely interested in your product from those who are not. The result is that no product samples are wasted. Your product samples are delivered only to the consumers who have the greatest potential for conversion, or the consumers who wish to be reminded of how awesome your product is. Either way, you win! As a result, your business grows!

  • Instant Consumer Commitment

The consumer instantly establishes a commitment to your product once he or she selects it. The consumer is making a conscious choice in favor of your product when there are many other options available. This commitment stays with the consumer and resurfaces when the consumer goes shopping. As a result, your business grows!

  • Product and Supplier Halo Effect

The consumer instantly and persistently experiences a halo-effect cognitive bias toward your product and your brand. This consumer attaches a positive feeling to the product and your brand as a result of the product being given to the consumer for free. This positive feeling influences the consumer’s choice the next time he or she is at the grocery or department store. As a result, your business grows!

  • Choice-supportive Cognitive Bias

The consumer develops a choice-supportive cognitive bias toward your product. When the consumer selects a product, he or she has just made a bet that that particular product was worth selecting above all other choices. Nobody wants to be wrong. When the consumer tries your product for the first time, the consumer already wants to like it. The consumer wants to be able to support the choice that he or she made. Choice-supportive cognitive bias is an extension of the commitment initially established when the selection was made. When choice-supportive cognitive bias takes effect, the original commitment to your product and brand is strengthened. As a result, your business grows!

  • Product Scarcity

After a consumer has tried your product and decides that it’s awesome, he or she may not be able to reselect your product as quickly as desired due to the cooldown system. This makes the product scarce. The consumer is persuaded to remove the element of scarcity from the product that he or she now loves by buying the product at the nearest grocery or department store. As a result, your business grows!

Why is Gladli better than a sweepstakes?
The answer is simple.

The success of a sweepstakes depends on the number of people who participate. The success of a Gladli marketing campaign does not.

Let’s look at an example.

Company Alpha decides to launch a sweepstakes marketing campaign where a $1,000 prize is offered to 1 lucky individual who provides his or her email address. The deadline to sign up for the promotion is 2 weeks after the promotion is launched. Each email address is worth $0.10 to Company Alpha. Company Alpha predicts that the promotion will be profitable because it expects that at least 10,000 people will sign up.

The marketing campaign is launched and only 5,000 people provide an email address for a chance to win the prize during the 2-week event. Company Alpha has acquired only $500 worth of email addresses and is now required to give away $1,000 per the terms of the promotion, resulting in a net loss of $500.

With Gladli, you don’t have to predict the number of people who will participate in your marketing campaign and then hope to reach that number. Your Gladli marketing campaign can start being profitable from the very first participant.

Also, you don’t need to estimate a timeframe for your Gladli marketing campaign. You can run a profitable campaign for any duration of your choosing.

Finally, you can change how much you want to spend on your Gladli marketing campaign at any time. You’re not locked into any given amount.

To summarize, when comparing Gladli to a sweepstakes, Gladli is

  • Less risky
  • Less work
  • More flexible
It truly is the best way to run a successful free product giveaway!

How do I list a product on Gladli?
After joining Gladli, you may add products to your account and manage them using our product management system. The number of products and quantities of products that you are permitted to add depends on your membership plan.

All membership plans can add both “delivery” and “voucher” products. Delivery products are products that you deliver directly to the consumer. Voucher products are products that you have in stock at a designated store where the consumer can visit and claim the product.

Watch our tutorials on How to Create a Delivery Product Listing and How to Create a Voucher Product Listing for step-by-step instructions!
How do I control my product’s distribution?
You can control the distribution of your products by using the following methods:

  • Adding and deleting products that you would like to make available on Gladli
  • Setting the quantity of each product that you would like to make available on Gladli
  • Setting the cooldown (see “How do the Cooldowns Work?” section below) of each product that you list on Gladli
For “voucher” products, you can control the store locations at which each product is available for redemption. You can also control how many of each product is available at each store.

Watch our tutorials on How to Manage Product Listings and How to Create and Manage Store Locations for step-by-step instructions!

Gladli is happy to accommodate special product distribution control requests if possible.
How do the cooldowns work?
Cooldowns are used to space out the product selection opportunities available to the consumers. Gladli uses a universal cooldown that applies to all products listed on Gladli to control product distribution rate at a high level.

In addition to the universal cooldown, there are product-level cooldowns that are specific to each product. These product-level cooldowns control the availability of a particular product.

Example: Suppose product Alpha is listed on Gladli on Monday. The universal cooldown is currently set to 1 day and Product Alpha has a cooldown of 2 days. Now suppose Jill, a consumer, places an order for product Alpha on the same day it was listed (Monday). Her order triggers the universal cooldown and the product Alpha cooldown timers to start. For the rest of Monday, Jill cannot select any other product on Gladli. On Tuesday, Jill is now able to select any product available on Gladli except for product Alpha. On Wednesday, Jill revisits Gladli, and can now select any product, including product Alpha.

You have control over the product-specific cooldowns. They allow you to better control your product distribution to consumers.

Our tutorials on How to Create a Delivery Product Listing and How to Create a Voucher Product Listing also discuss cooldowns!
How much does it cost?
You can use Gladli for free! Additionally, we’re currently offering to buy $100 worth of your products to list on Gladli! This offer applies to new business members. You can find additional details on the business home page.

After your promotional $100 worth of products have been selected by consumers, you will be responsible for the cost of your products that you supply. Those costs include:

  • Product unit cost
  • Shipping cost
  • Cost of applicable taxes
Still, the total cost per transaction is only a few dollars, making Gladli a very efficient platform for profitable long-term product giveaway campaigns.

There are also premium membership plans available. Compared to many other marketing options, the cost of participation in the paid membership plans is low.

To summarize, there are 4 membership plan options available, including:

  • Free
  • Plus
  • Pro
  • Ultimate
The free plan does not have a monthly fee and it allows you to utilize Gladli’s services free of charge. The other plans have a monthly subscription fee that is tiered based on the degree to which you leverage Gladli’s services.
How does shipping work for delivery products?
The shipping process is simple.

  1. Gladli sends the orders for your products to you as soon as the orders are placed
  2. You ship your product to the consumer
That’s it!

Gladli allows you to ship your product directly to the consumer. Gladli does not hold inventory of your product. This minimizes the distance your product travels and the number of locations it visits, thus reducing shipping costs. It also minimizes the time it takes for your product to reach the consumer!
What are my delivery requirements?
All “delivery” products must be capable of being delivered to any physical address within the United States that is recognized by the United States Postal Service.

All delivery products must be delivered to the customer within 1 week (7 calendar days) from the time an order is placed. Although, special consideration is taken for products shipping to, or from, addresses located outside the contiguous United States.

Gladli generates vouchers for your “voucher” products and delivers them immediately to the consumer when an order is placed so that you don’t have to!

Delivery requirements are discussed further in the Participation Agreement. Please reference that document for details.
How do voucher products work?
When listing a “voucher” product, you will be asked to specify the locations at which the product will be available for pickup by the consumer. You will also be able to control the quantity of that product at each location. This quantity represents the quantity of that product that you are committed to have in stock at each location to support Gladli vouchers for that product.

When an order is placed for a product at a location, the quantity of that product available at that location is automatically reduced accordingly.

Furthermore, you are able to change the quantity at any time to suit your needs.

When the quantity reaches zero, consumers will no longer be able to select that product at that location.

All vouchers expire 1 week (7 calendar days) after the order for the voucher product is placed.
What are my requirements for availability of voucher products?
If a voucher product is in stock and available for pick-up at a store location according to the Gladli product management system, the product must be available and ready for transfer to the consumer when the consumer visits a participating location and presents a valid Gladli voucher for the product.

Product availability requirements are discussed further in the Participation Agreement. Please reference that document for details.

As previously mentioned (see “How do voucher products work?”), all vouchers expire 1 week (7 calendar days) after order placement. This reduces your product inventory management burden at each participating location. It means that you only have to commit to having a product in stock and ready to support Gladli vouchers for 1 week after the last order is placed for that product at any given location.
